Parent Information and Opportunities

1.) Partners in Parenting University
We invite you to join us on January 20 at 6:00 p.m. for our Partners in Parenting University workshop! This parent workshop series aims to prepare parents on how to better support their children. The upcoming topic is “Raising Boys.” Topics for Partners in Parenting University workshops include mental health, drugs and alcohol, healthy family environment, and multi-tiered systems of support.

Thursdays, February 1-April 22

6:00-8:00 p.m.

This program is composed of 10 weekly sessions that offer straightforward, practical step-by-step action plans for parents raising teenagers. 

Goals:

  • Increase communication
  • Reduce family conflict
  • Reduce inappropriate behavior
  • Improve school attendance and performance

  1. ) Suicide Prevention 101 for Parents: Recognizing Signs and What to Do 

Wednesday, January 27, 2021; 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This free webinar will provide information about suicide prevention for parents, including warning signs for suicide, how to have a conversation with their child, actions to take if their child is having a suicidal thoughts, and resources.  The webinar is provided in partnership with the California Department of Education, the Directing Change Program, and Teen Line.
