Welcome to the Vista Heights Counseling Department!
Our Mission
The mission of the Vista Heights Middle School Counseling Program is to promote and enhance the life-long learning process by development in three broad areas: Personal/Social Development, Career Development, and Academic Development. The purpose of the program is to maximize the full potential of all students.
What We Do
As school counselors we are dedicated to working with students, staff, and families to promote student success in their person/social, academic, and career development. Some of the things that we offer to help students through the middle school years include: small groups, classroom guidance, and individual solution focused counseling.
As students progress from one grade to the next, their counselor moves with them, providing continuity and time to really get to know students and their parents. We take a holistic approach to making sure each student has a positive experience at Vista Heights Middle School and that they are well-prepared for successfully meeting the challenges of the future.
Who We Serve
The assignments for the 2014-15 school year are as follows:
Kristen Morris: 6th grade
Richard Mayo: 7th grade
Carla Byers: 8th grade
Please contact the appropriate counselor if you have any questions.
