Mr. Cortez's commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and nurturing each student's unique potential makes him truly exceptional. His impact extends beyond academic success, as he cultivates a classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn. Notably, his dedication and guidance in the annual History Day competitions have been transformative, diving deep into facilitating student research, and developing critical thinking and presentation skills that extend beyond the classroom. Thanks to his commitment, many of our students have advanced to the national level over the past two decades. Mr. Cortez plays a vital role in our school community. He leads several clubs, mentors new teachers, and takes the initiative in organizing events that strengthen our community bonds.

Her ability to create a positive learning environment and keep our English Learner students engaged is a testament to her incredible work ethic and passion for education. She not only provides invaluable support to her classroom teacher but also serves as a vital resource for our students, consistently prioritizing their needs. We are very grateful for the positive difference Karla makes at Vista Heights every day.

Moreno Valley Unified Triumphs at RCOE National History Competition

 

In Moreno Valley, Calif., 34 students from the Moreno Valley Unified School District have demonstrated excellence at the RCOE National History competition, advancing with 16 projects to the state level. With 46 schools, including 13 from Moreno Valley, participating in the competition, a diverse range of institutions showcased their talent. Among 386 student entries, Moreno Valley participants secured 34 wins, highlighting their dedication to academic excellence. These winning students will progress to the California State Competition at CSU Sacramento on April 19-24, 2024.

Esports All Girls Tournament

The Moreno Valley Unified School District is hosting its first-ever All Girls Esports Tournament on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
